Alarm.com RoundUp

For its company retreat, Alarm.com needed a theme that could capture the excitement of the get-together, as well as the innovation and technology at the core of its day-to-day mission.

Where previous years’ themes centered on the location of the retreat, I wanted a visual style that would instead emphasize the company’s core mission and values, while still bringing energy and excitement to the event.

The visuals, focused on shooting stars of “-ation” words, gave employees the chance to align themselves with the company’s future plans and presentations, finding the multitude of “-ation words” that best fit their ideas and opportunities.

Employees were greeted with branded spaces throughout the hotel and conference areas, keeping the theme top of mind all retreat.

Employees received thematic welcome gifts, and gave the team a chance to add in even more “-ation” words in a fun, casual way.

The shooting star lines and dots also allowed for ways to sneak in efficiencies throughout the event, like adding in participant seating row numbers + a colored dot sizing system for t-shirt pickup onto participant badges.

Overall, the event theme served its purpose of reinvigorating employees and getting them excited to be a part of the “Alarm.com Nation,” a thematic piece that has lived on since the retreat.
